The Foote Field Legacy for Field HockeyThis stadium is one of the legacy facilities from the recent 2001 World Championships in Athletics. The stadium, built at a cost of $9.13 million, included $7.93 in financing from the Championships and another $1.2 million from the University of Alberta. During the Championships, it was used as a practice centre by the international athletes prior to competition. The stadium was built on university land in what is called the "south campus" near the University Farm, about 20 blocks south of the main campus. |
